Roundism - 24-11-14

One of my earliest drawings in the Roundism series. It evolved out of my earlier 'The birth of New Cubism' series. Some bloke told me he found the title a little bit presumptious and perhaps it is. That is why, after good tradition of swear words in art history, I jokingly decided to call my personal cubist style 'Roundism', just like a journalist accused Pablo Picasso to make little cubes.

Whereas Picasso, Georges Braque and artist like Juan Gris embraced the principle of looking at an objects from differect perspectives and thereby referring to African art, I like employing a correct use of perspectives, anatomy and atmospheric depth and therefor I reject multi-perspectivism. In that respect I am a bit of an aesthetic that like to depict nice shapes but always keep the subject recognizable, even though I add a lot of geometry to it, not to speak of the play of light and dark that keeps on enchanting me till the day I will be no more.
